Kerr Taylor of The Royal Bank of Scotland shares his experience of multimillion pound transactions with one of the world's largest software vendors.

Oracle Unlimited License Agreements (ULA's) are continuing to contribute significantly to Oracle's revenue stream fuelling their valuation and increasing vendor lock-in. From a client's perspective, in the hundreds of ULA negotiations and outcomes that Rocela has observed, we have noticed a high degree of misunderstanding and naivety of ULA's. Consequently, and unsurprisingly, clients are finding that the expected benefits of a ULA are not forth coming.

Following on from our recent Oracle R12, Payroll & HR Sessions in London and Oracle R12 Upgrade session in Aberdeen, Rocela held its next R12 session on Oracle Financials.

Oracle's announcement last year that Oracle E-Business Suite R11i Premier Support would end in November 2010 and be replaced with Extended Support has prompted many organisations to closely examine the business benefits of upgrading to R12. This change in support level will affect everyone currently using Oracle Financials R11i.
